Brightening Rutherglen Petition

A petition to draw attention to the need to brighten up Rutherglen as we move out of lockdown. We all need a lift after the miseries of Covid. Concerted action by the Council and local community volunteers to clean up the environment and brighten up people’s homes would be a great boost.

Our demands include:

  • Tacking dog fouling
  • Getting on top of litter and graffiti
  • Stopping flytipping and dumping of debris
  • Speeded up action on housing renovation
  • Painting of tenement closes, railings and balconies
  • Speeded up programme of pavement repairs – assisted by the £2 million extra obtained by Liberal Democrats in the Council budget this year

Please support us.

Brighten Up Rutherglen Petition

I support Councillor Robert Brown’s campaign to brighten up Rutherglen and urge South Lanarkshire Council to take all necessary action to tackle litter, graffiti, dog fouling and illegal flytipping and to paint railings, closes and balconies within their responsibility.
