Call to public to take part in Play park Survey

17th November 202

Commenting on the Council's play park survey, Rutherglen Liberal Democrat Councillor Robert Brown said

“There is going to be some money available for improving local playparks over the next few years so I hope people in Rutherglen and Cambuslang will take part in the survey and tell the Council about the state of any playparks in their area and what they would like to see done to improve them.

However the Rutherglen/Cambuslang area only has 17 playparks out of 233 in the council area. This is far less than our population share and I hope people will also make their view on that known too - there is a space for “other comments”. The money is only available for renewing existing play parks not for new ones but it is good chance to make the point.

There is also scope to suggest any new playground equipment or facilities - people may have heard of or seen interesting provision elsewhere.

Children and young people have missed out on a lot during Covid so this Playpark Renewal Fund is one way of making a difference for them.

I know people are sceptical of official surveys but this one is worth while, with identifiable money available for playparks."
