Speaking ahead of polls opening in the Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election, Scottish Liberal Democrat candidate Gloria Adebo said:
“For too long people have had to put up with seeing the country divided between the Brexit nationalism of the Conservative party and the Scottish nationalism of the SNP.
“Both of these governments have mismanaged the economy and allowed public services like the NHS to be neglected.
“This constituency needs change and it needs a champion. It needs someone who will stand up against SNP centralisation and Conservative chaos.
“People are sick of it. We even found an SNP party member who said their vote was up for grabs because of the actions of various nationalist politicians.
“I would urge that voter and ever voter who wants to see action on the cost of living and the state of the NHS to vote for me and the Scottish Liberal Democrats.
"We are sending a clear message that the time for change is now."
